Getting Clean From Marijuana
When you first quit using marijuana, you will likely experience both psychological and physical withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms often include:
- Increase Irritability: You may become more agitated than usual over things that normally would not bother you. You may have a difficult time getting along with others.
- Increased Anxiety: You may find yourself worrying about things that you did not worry about when using marijuana chronically. You may experience imagined or perceived threats that are not really threats at all.
- Difficulty Sleeping: It may be difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep for the first few days after quitting marijuana.
- Cravings: You may find yourself constantly thinking about using marijuana and craving the substance.
Even after these immediate withdrawal symptoms pass, it can still be very difficult to refrain from using marijuana because of how habitual the addiction is. Even the strongest of people may find themselves tempted to use marijuana again simply out of habit. However, our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) will help support you in staying clean.
